The beef resources department functions under two long range plan outcomes. The first outcome seeks a positive eating experience where consumer satisfaction with the palatability and consistency of beef products increases. The second outcome focuses on food safety where consumer confidence in beef safety increases.

The objective of the positive eating experience outcome is to achieve consistent quality beef and beef products throughout the beef production chain. This is accomplished by extending information to Texas beef producers that will reduce variability and enhance the quality of the Texas beef supply.

The objective of the food safety outcome is to achieve safe supplies at all levels of beef production and consumption. This is accomplished by increasing producer understanding and use of management and safety practices that result in a safe beef supply.

Vision Statement:
Through cost-effective extension of the industry's unified plan in Texas, strengthen beef's position in the global marketplace to increase returns by providing value to consumers, partners, employees, and cattle producers.
